In a world in which sustainability is gaining increasing attention, but in which it is becoming more complex every day to pursue this lifestyle, we want to provide some guidance. By displaying our seals, we create transparency and security. For us, it is a matter of course to offer you a fairly produced product - so you can be sure that we produce sustainably and in a way that conserves resources.
In cooperation with Planetly, we offset our CO2 emissions through certified climate protection projects - as of March
2021, we have already offset 19 tons of CO2.
With our Gold Standard at Planetly, we support three climate projects.
Wind power project India
India's electricity supply is dependent on fossil fuels with a high carbon footprint. Wind power can save energy from fossil fuel power plants - reducing the impact on the environment and creating new jobs for the local population.
REDD+ Project Borneo
Borneo has lost over 400,00 hectares of rainforest. This project saves 64,500 hectares of carbon-rich peat swamp forests in the lowlands of Borneo from being converted into palm oil plantations. Biodiversity and wildlife habitats are sustainably protected thanks to this project.
Cookstove project Kenya
The Kakamega rainforest is a rainforest in western Kenya. Here, 90% of the inhabitants depend on the rainforest for their livelihoods, including as a source of firewood. This project provides fuel-efficient cooking stoves for rural households. This reduces deforestation of the rainforest.
Our briefs are made from certified organic cotton. No pesticides or other chemicals that could harm you or the environment are used to grow the cotton.
We also make sure that the people on the plantations work under fair working conditions and that the delivery routes to the textile factories are kept short.
The Taynies packaging bears the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) seal.
The seal stands for sustainable forestry and identifies products that have been sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Our production facility in China is a member of the BSCI.
This is an initiative that supports companies in improving social standards along the entire value chain. This initiative helps to ensure that local employees are paid fairly, that regular working hours are observed and that child and forced labor are strictly prohibited. We have these provisions regularly checked on site.
Our Taynies are vegan
The fabrics and materials we use are not of animal origin. We deliberately avoid using animal merino wool. Although this is also available without mulesing - i.e. without the preventive, painful removal of pieces of skin to protect the sheep from fly infestation and the resulting inflammation - mulesing-free wool can usually only be obtained with the addition of pesticides. Even if these are no longer detectable in the wool later on, this already has consequences now: the fly maggots in the sheep's fur become more resistant and stronger pesticides have to be used. For reasons of animal welfare and environmental protection, we have therefore decided against the use of animal wool and in favor of processing organic cotton.
We are Oeko-Tex certified
Our products are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. This means that all raw materials and materials used have been tested for harmful substances and found to be harmless to health. By the way, our label number is: 15.HCN.75069 (Hohenstein HTTI)
Dermatologically tested
Taynies have been tested on several people under the supervision of dermatologists and subsequently found to be harmless. Our underwear is therefore skin-friendly and generally does not cause allergic reactions.
